JACKSON, MS –The Healthy Trucking Association of America (HTAA) announced today that it has entered into an alliance with the Mississippi Trucking Association (MTA) in order to provide for the health and wellness needs of MTA member fleets and their drivers. As a result of this association partnership, the employees of all MTA member fleets will be eligible for HTAA member benefits.
“We are very pleased to partner with MTA to provide benefits that will improve the health and wellness of the men and women who drive for Mississippi trucking fleets,” says Brett Blowers, spokesman for the HTAA. “The MTA has shown a true commitment to the wellbeing of its members and our new partnership is another example of how MTA goes above and beyond to provide its membership with an ever-increasing list of outstanding benefits.”
In order to introduce MTA members to HTAA Health and Wellness benefits, MTA fleet members and their drivers will receive complementary HTAA benefits for a trial period of six months. As the trucking industry authority on health and wellness, the HTAA works with other associations like MTA to further the goal of helping professional drivers get healthy and live longer lives.

The Healthy Trucking Association of America was established as a result of alarming statistics concerning the unhealthiness of the professional truck driver population. Current statistics show that over-the-road professionals have an average life expectancy of less than 61 years and exhibit well above average occurrences of a wide variety of ailments and conditions, including high blood pressure, sleep apnea and obesity to name a few. The HTAA offers educational resources and programs to improve the health of professional drivers and has quickly evolved into the leading authority on driver health and wellness issues.
The mission of the Healthy Trucking Association of America is promoted via multiple lines of communication, including representation at all major transportation trade shows, their annual Healthy Trucking Summit, Healthy Trucking Brunches, an interactive website, a variety of digital media vehicles, a monthly newsletter, and the official monthly magazine of the HTAA, Healthy Trucking Magazine; which is the only magazine dedicated to the health and wellness of drivers.
