LAS VEGAS, NV – As the trucking industry’s leading authority on health and wellness issues, the HTAA continues to add to their already impressive momentum and support as they roll down the highway fully loaded with health and wellness benefits for all transportation industry employees, especially professional drivers and owner operators. HTAA’s involvement at the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Texas, Aug. 26-28 will grow upon the achievements and programs at the Great West Truck Show.

At the recent Great West Show in Las Vegas, the HTAA hosted the first ever HTAA Health, Wellness Safety Pavilion, and sponsored numerous health-related events, including free blood pressure and BMI screenings, the HTAA Health Awareness Walk, and a variety of  presentations from leading health leaders.  The nationwide leader in driver health and wellness also conducted the first ever HTAA Focus Groups, discussing products including uDrove, a revolutionary new business and compliance management tool for the transportation industry as well as health and wellness services, events and other topics that are important to the professional driver community.

Numerous enthusiastic supporters joined with the HTAA to sponsor these efforts, including NFI industries, Marten Transport, Triple Crown Services, Con-way, Driver HEALTH Magazine, Mondics Insurance Group, Roadside Medical, Truckdriver.com, Women In Trucking and Synergy.

“The HTAA continues to develop programs and connect drivers to products and services that keep them moving down the road, like our HTAA Speaker Series,” said Brett Blowers, spokesperson of the HTAA.  “Together, working with Randall-Reilly we successfully introduced a presentation and focus group initiative that we will continue to expand at future events. The health and wellness of the professional driver is at the core of our mission and the HTAA will continue to work on behalf of their needs.”

Another first for the HTAA is their HTAA Focus Group Series.  “We want to provide companies with the opportunity to connect and learn more from the professional driver community to develop products and services that are meaningful to the driver,” added Blowers.

“As one of the first companies to conduct a focus group with the HTAA we found the experience to be beneficial in learning more about the professional driver community and their wants and needs relative to our new product,” said Katie Moser, director at uDrove.

Additional focus groups and speaker presentations will be held during the Great American Truck Show.

HTAA and Fit for the Road are also hosting the third Health Awareness Walk, a 1.5 mile walk held in the Dallas Convention Center on Aug. 28. The walk will be led by Trucker Trainer Bob Perry and members of the Trucking Solutions Group Driver Health Council. Registration will be available at the HTAA booth, #23167 or online at www.healthytruck.org.

About HTAA
The Healthy Trucking Association of America was established as a result of alarming statistics concerning the unhealthiness of the professional truck driver population. Current statistics show that over-the-road professionals have an average life expectancy of less than 61 years and exhibit well above average occurrences of a wide variety of ailments and conditions, including high blood pressure, sleep apnea and obesity to name a few. The HTAA offers programs to improve the health of professional drivers and has firmly established itself as the leading authority on driver health and wellness issues.

The mission of the Healthy Trucking Association of America is promoted via multiple lines of communication, including representation at all major transportation trade shows, their annual Healthy Trucking Summit, Health and Wellness Pavilions at GATS and GWTS, Healthy Trucking Brunches, an interactive website, a variety of digital media vehicles, a monthly newsletter, and the official monthly magazine of the HTAA, Driver HEALTH; which is the only magazine dedicated to the health and wellness of drivers.
